run
a poem
run
reality feels broken
and so i run.
run to remind myself
that you aren’t the only one
who can make my heart beat faster.
i run to pass the time
falling behind. i am falling behind.
i run faster and farther,
but can’t escape my own mind.
i run until i lose my breath
but here i am, still breathing.
i run to feel like i’m winning—
the truth is too defeating.
i run in place.
i run outside.
and in my mind.
miles and miles.
i’d run to space
if I could,
and it still would never be enough.
i run and it doesn’t matter.
i can’t move.

Such a voice. Haunting and beautiful words Love the poem. Thank you ✨✨✨
You’ve perfectly captured that exhausting paradox of running until your lungs burn, only to realize the one thing you’re outrunning is the ground beneath your feet. Love this ✨
